Escuela Expresionista Europea (XX) - Bodegón de Blancos

Title: Still Life of Whites ㅤ School: European Expressive School (20th century) ㅤ Style: Figurative Expressionism with influences from Post-Impressionism. ㅤ Technique: Oil on board, with impasto paint applications. ㅤ Condition: Generally good state of conservation, with small signs of age and wear on the frame. ㅤ Circle and artistic influence: ㅤ This work stylistically relates to the European expressionist currents of the 20th century, especially those that developed a subjective interpretation of the still life by simplifying forms and giving prominence to the pictorial matter. ㅤ The treatment of the flowers and the reduction of the chromatic palette allow affinities with certain floral compositions by Maurice de Vlaminck and with the more expressive branch of European Post-Impressionism. ㅤ The painting represents a small bouquet of white flowers arranged in a vessel of greenish tones. ㅤ The composition stands out for its marked chromatic economy, using different shades of greenish gray, white and black to build a very sober image. ㅤ The flowers appear executed with thick applications of white pigment, contrasting with a dark vegetal mass, with rapid and gestural brushwork. ㅤ The vessel, located in the lower central part, partially merges with the background through greenish and grayish tones that reinforce the overall visual unity. ㅤ The painted surface shows abundant textures and impasto, especially in the flowers and foliage, which acquire an almost sculptural character. ㅤ The composition conveys an intimate and contemplative atmosphere, where the simplicity of the floral motif contrasts with the intensity of its execution. ㅤ Accompanied by a natural wood frame with wide moldings and a stepped profile, finished in warm brown tones. Its sober and traditional structure complements the painting's expressive character. ㅤ Observations: ㅤ The work may incur damage during transport even with proper packaging.
