[Escrime] Adolphe Tavernier - Amateurs et Salles d'Armes de Paris [EO

Adolphe Tavernier, Amateurs and Fencing Halls of Paris. Paris, C. Marpon & E. Flammarion, s.d. [1886]. 8vo, 342 pp. Original edition, one of 25 copies on Japan paper, no. 28, the only printing with 10 on chine. Work illustrated by Georges Genilloud: cover, frontispiece and 7 plates hors-texte, as well as the banners, running heads, and tailpieces. The author here provides a list of the period’s fencers and thus offers a good view of fencing.
