The Ericsson ET 337 is a piece of 1990s mobile telephone history. Below you will find its technical description and an overview of its current value on the vintage collectible market. Launched in 1994, the Ericsson ET 337 (closely related to the international GH337 model) was based on the iconic “Jane” design from the Swedish house. At the time of its release, it occupied the top tier of the market and was considered one of the smallest and lightest GSM digital phones in the world. • Design and Build: Characterized by a solid, minimal, and almost military aesthetic. It boasts excellent build quality, with an internal metal chassis that acted as shielding for the components. A notable feature is the semicircular speaker grille, designed in collaboration with the prestigious audio brand Bang & Olufsen. • Historical functionality: It has a very small monochrome display capable of showing a few lines of text. The phone supported SMS reception but, interestingly, did not allow sending them directly from the keypad (a feature introduced only in subsequent models like the GH388); to send a text message you needed to connect it to a computer via a dedicated accessory. • Brand: The specimen in the photo bears the orange Telecom Italia Mobile logo, making it the classic version distributed on the Italian market in the mid-1990s. Fully functional with battery charge (working) and case.
