Enami, Farsari, Suzuki, Yokohama School (XIX) - Fabric seller

Circa 1885/1895, 20x26 cm. "Fabric seller", very beautiful portrait by one of the pioneers of the so-called Yokohama School, before Kuzakabe Kimbei, whose signatures were either absent or appeared as archival numbers rather than captioned banners. Excellent vintage albumen print from the period with touches of watercolor, with very good preservation of contrasts, colors and levels of detail, mounted on a thin cardboard backing. Will be shipped with its neutral pH sleeve (ideal for a collection kept in good condition). A small conservator's note, not to be missed.
