Emerald ring / new Set in 925 sterling silver Weight: 2.30 g 7.0 mm x 5.6 mm Ring size: U 52 UK L 1/2 US 6.1 Fr 12 Inner diameter: 16.5 mm New and unworn Emerald is a dark- to light-green variety of the silicate mineral beryl with the chemical composition Al2Be3[Si6O18]. The color of emerald, whose range spans from dark blue-green to pale yellow-green, is caused by small trace amounts of chromium (Cr3+) and vanadium ions (V3+). Like the pure mineral beryl, emerald crystallizes in the hexagonal crystal system and usually forms six-sided, prismatic to columnar crystals with a glassy luster on the surfaces. Its Mohs hardness of 7.5 to 8 is comparable to that of beryl. Shipping as insured registered mail
