A distinguished original mid-century steel strongbox, dating from approximately 1950, featuring an elegant olive-green textured finish with delicate gold-coloured lining and a striking original red-painted interior. The combination of the refined exterior detailing, substantial metal construction and original period hardware gives this strongbox a distinctive mid-century industrial and decorative character. The original key and lock are fully functional. The strongbox is in exceptionally good original condition considering its age, retaining its authentic finish, colours and attractive natural patina, with only minor signs of age. A particularly elegant and collectible example of 1950s industrial design, equally appealing as a functional strongbox and as a distinctive decorative interior object. Dimensions: 31 × 23 × 12.5 cm.
