This brooch shines with cool, crystalline elegance, a composition of white gold leaves and white diamonds. A branch of finely veined leaves, arranged as if at random, forms the basis of the design. The plasticity of the composition, in interaction with the structure of the high-carat white gold, allows a wonderful play of light on the surfaces. A bouquet of fine brilliant cut diamonds glitters centrally, their various sizes and settings arranged on different levels making the composition appear casual despite its preciousness. The asymmetrical shape is typical of the post-war period, because it was only then that the way of wearing brooches as we know them best today became established: On the side under the shoulder, on a jacket or dress. Before that brooches were often symmetrically designed, because they were intended to be worn in the center of the corsage or on the collar of a blouse. In terms of workmanship and design, this makes the brooch a piece of jewellery from the 1960s, when bright white gold and textured precious metals were booming. A high quality, wearable jewel in the best condition.
