This ring in warm, gleaming yellow gold is adorned with a single gemstone: a single diamond solitaire - but this is a special stone. It is an old European cut diamond, the usual form of diamond cut in the c. 1900s, weighing around 0.95 ct and in white G colour with very good clarity (VS2). Rings with gemstones set in the band are called band rings or alliance rings. They were already being worn in the 19th century. However, these rings also experienced a new fashion in the second half of the 20th century. Not only their timeless appearance, but also the flush-set gemstones without prongs made them a particularly elegant accessory suitable for everyday wear. This ring was probably created in the Second half of the 20th century. It bears modern goldsmith's marks, which also suggest that the ring was created in Germany. However, the diamond is significantly older than the ring. It probably comes from a family heirloom and was re-set in this ring. So a family tradition lives on: can the ring establish a new tradition for you? We were able to acquire the ring here in Berlin. It is in very good condition.
