Very rare large iron fulgurite. Fulgurites are tube-shaped aggregates formed by lightning strikes in loose sediments, granites, gneisses and volcanic rocks, and by extremely rapid cooling. They are also called lightning tubes. They are basically “petrified lightning” or “petrified finger of God.” For comparison: iron melts at 1538 degrees Celsius, magma is about 1000 degrees hot. The typical amorphous fulgurite substance is formed during the rapid cooling. Lightning tubes are—as the name suggests—usually tube-shaped, i.e., hollow inside, and typically measure about 2 cm in diameter. Often the fulgurite forms branched structures, just as the original lightning. Dimensions: Height: 8 cm. Width: 19.5 cm. Depth: 19 cm. Weight: 841.9 grams. Shipping: Shipped with DHL insured and with tracking number.
