Edgar Scauflaire (1893–1960) — Gypsy, 1921 Original drawing in pencil and dry pastel on kraft paper, signed and dated 'Scauflaire 1921'. This portrait depicts a young woman with her face slightly turned toward the viewer. Executed on kraft paper with warm tones, the drawing combines the precision of graphite with touches of dry pastel that subtly color the face and hair. The whole maintains a great simplicity of facture, with a particularly expressive presence despite the relatively intimate format of the sheet.
