East Germany - Cold War NVA R-105D Field Radio Set - Military equipment - 1950

Cold War East German NVA R-105D Military Field Radio Set - 1950s – Complete with Accessories - tested and working. An exceptional, highly authentic piece of Cold War history: an original East German NVA (Nationale Volksarmee) R-105D portable military field transceiver. Originally designed in the Soviet Union as the "Astra-3" in the early 1950s, this specific unit was manufactured for and deployed by the East German armed forces, featuring all-German front panel controls, battery instructions, and operational labels. The front panel retains its iconic, striking red psychological warfare warning: "ACHTUNG! FEIND HÖRT MIT" ("Attention! The enemy is listening"). The unit is safely housed in its original olive-drab duralumin transport case. The inside of the front cover plate retains the crisp, rivet-attached black Betriebsanleitung (operating instructions sheet) detailing antenna configurations. The separate battery compartment lid includes its original aluminum technical guide for connecting the Sammler (accumulators/batteries). This remarkably comprehensive set comes packed with its essential, hard-to-find field accessories, making it an excellent centerpiece for Cold War collectors, military history enthusiasts, or vintage amateur radio collectors. Included Accessories • Original Military Handset: Heavy-duty black bakelite telephone-style handset with an integrated push-to-talk (PTT) switch and heavy rubberized cabling. • 2x Extra Antennas: Includes the flexible, segmented steel Kulikow whip antenna array system alongside wire elements for extended field deployment. Condition Report • Cosmetic: Excellent vintage condition. The olive-drab paint shows minimal battlefield wear, with clean labels and perfectly clear dial glass. The interior mechanics and faceplate are exceptionally well-preserved. • Technical: The dial mechanism, switches, and tuning knobs turn smoothly. The internal electronics appear complete and unaltered. It is sold in tested and working, original condition as a highly collectible historical artifact. Dimensions & Logistics • Dimensions: 40 x 34 x 18 cm • Weight: Approx. 14.0 kg (Heavy, robust military build) The item will be packed with professional-grade protective materials and shipped with tracking and insurance.
