E. García - Paisaje ruso XL (no reserve)

"Russian Landscape" is a 100 × 70 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García. The work presents a broad urban vista contemplated from an interior, built through an intense combination of architecture, water, vegetation, and small boats. In the foreground, a sculptural figure introduces an intimate element that connects the domestic space with the exterior landscape. The composition is organized around a large window that functions as a painting within the painting itself. On the other side appears an imagined city made of geometric buildings in reds, yellows, blues, and violets, presided over by a tall tower that structures the scene vertically. The river traverses the composition in turquoise and pale blue tones, while the boats and their white wakes add movement. The pictorial language approaches fauvism through the free and expressive use of color. Perspective is simplified and architectures become large chromatic surfaces, creating an image placed between the urban landscape and the imaginary construction. The visible brushwork and the intensity of the palette recall the chromatic freedom of Matisse and Derain, as well as certain explorations of early 20th-century modern landscape. In "Russian Landscape", Ernest García contrasts the serenity of the interior with the breadth of the city and the river. The yellow trees in the foreground, the pink sky, and the multicolored architectures transform the landscape into a poetic vision, where reality seems reconstructed through memory and color. "Russian Landscape" will be especially attractive to collectors interested in contemporary figurative painting, fauvism, urban landscapes, architecture, river scenes, interiors with views, expressive color, and contemporary reinterpretations of the landscape.
