All auctions / Contemporary Art / E. García - La gran puerta azul XL
"La gran puerta azul" is a 100 × 70 cm painting by the contemporary artist Ernest García. The work presents a monumental blue door framed by architecture inspired by North African styles, where the horseshoe arch and the abundant ornamentation turn the entrance into the true visual center of the composition. In front of it, a figure dressed in a blue tunic advances slowly, providing scale, movement, and a narrative dimension to the scene. The composition is built from a marked contrast between the intense cobalt blue of the door and the golden, ochre, and sand tones of the façade. The palm trees appearing partially at the edges act as a natural frame, while the human figure introduces a pause within the monumental architecture. The painting combines contemporary figuration, architecture and travel scene through visible brushwork and an expressive use of color. The simplification of forms and the strong color contrasts show affinities with Post-Impressionism and Fauvism, while the interest in architecture, ornamentation and luminosity recalls Orientalist tradition and the fascination of many modern painters with North Africa. "La gran puerta azul" conveys mystery, exoticism and a powerful sense of journey. A work particularly appealing to collectors of contemporary figurative painting, urban scenes, Arabic and North African architecture, monumental doors, travel and compositions dominated by blue. Authenticity and Shipping: The work is offered directly by E. García, guaranteeing its authenticity with a certificate signed by the artist himself. The painting will be carefully rolled and protected inside a sturdy cardboard tube for shipment. After payment is confirmed, a period of three days is required to prepare the piece and ship it. Delivery time will depend on the destination, with a maximum of up to ten business days.
