E. García - La coleccionista XL

THE COLLECTOR is a 70x100 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García. A serene and elegant figure occupies the center of the composition, surrounded by objects that seem to form her intimate universe: lush flowers, painted ceramics, scattered fruits, and fabrics in intense colors. The scene recalls the decorative interiors of Matisse, where reality transforms into a game of color, rhythm, and ornament. The bright yellow of the protagonist's blouse contrasts with the fiery reds, deep blues, and vibrant greens that structure the space. Each element appears to have been chosen with care and affection, as part of a collection built over time. The large floral vase, the ceramic pieces, and the small objects on the table are not mere ornaments: they function as fragments of memory, everyday treasures gathered by a sensitive gaze. The free, expressive brushwork brings freshness and spontaneity, while the balanced composition conveys a sense of contemplative calm. The protagonist watches in silence, herself becoming part of the collection that surrounds her, as if the objects reflected aspects of her own personality. The Collector is a celebration of the pleasure of gathering beauty, of living with objects that move us, and of building, through them, a silent portrait of who we are.
