E. García - El maquinista XL

EL MAQUINISTA is a 70x100 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García. This work combines portrait, memory, and symbolism in a scene charged with mystery and evocation. Sitting with a serene and contemplative demeanor, the central figure wears a striking green suit decorated with floral forms that seem to merge with his own identity, as if he carried an interior landscape with him. At his feet, a yellow locomotive takes a leading place within the composition. More than a simple object, the train becomes a symbol of travel, the passage of time, and the paths we traverse throughout life. The presence of the bottle and glass on the small table suggests a pause in the journey, a moment of introspection before continuing forward. The color palette, dominated by intense greens, bright yellows, and soft pink tones, provides a poetic and slightly dreamlike atmosphere. The simplified background directs all attention to the figure and its symbolic elements, reinforcing the visual narrative of the work. With echoes of modern portraiture and poetic realism, “El maquinista” speaks of those who drive their own journeys, of nostalgia for past trips, and of the hope for those still to be undertaken. A painting that invites viewers to imagine stories, destinations, and memories hidden among the rails of memory. Authenticity and Shipping: The work is offered directly by E.
