E. García - Baño tropical XL (no reserve)

TROPICAL BATH is a 70x100 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García. The work portrays a bathroom turned into a lush interior garden, where a free-standing green bathtub sits surrounded by an abundant collection of tropical plants. The scene blends domestic architecture, interior design, and nature into a luminous, colorful, and deeply decorative composition. The bathtub occupies the center of the painting and functions as a balancing point between the vegetation that invades all planes. Large banana leaves, philodendrons, hanging plants, and colorful pots frame the scene and create a sense of botanical refuge. In the background, a green window brings in natural light and visually opens the space, while small containers and decorative pieces complete the intimate atmosphere of the bathroom. The composition is built through an overlapping arrangement of leaves, pots, and architectural elements that generates depth without losing clarity. The plants in the foreground act as a vegetal frame, guiding the eye toward the bathtub and the window. Wall decorative plates, the gold faucet, and small pots add handcrafted, domestic details. Color is the main expressive driver of the work. Ernest García combines dark and luminous greens with pinks, violets, oranges, yellows, and blues. The geometric floor, rendered in coral, pink, and peach tones, introduces rhythm and warmth, while the green bathtub visually integrates with the vegetation. The brushwork is visible, direct, and spontaneous, especially on the leaves and on the chromatic interior surfaces. The freedom of the palette and the ornamental treatment of space bear affinities with fauvism and with Henri Matisse’s interiors, where plants, objects, and architecture merge on a single decorative surface. Echoes of Pierre Bonnard can also be discerned in the bath’s intimacy and in transforming a everyday room into a sensory experience dominated by color. Beyond representing a bathroom, Tropical Bath offers an image of well-being, rest, and connection with nature. The vegetation turns the domestic space into a private oasis, while the bathtub suggests pause, self-care, and contemplation. The absence of human figures allows the viewer to imagine the space as a refuge prepared to be inhabited. Tropical Bath is especially appealing to collectors interested in contemporary figurative painting, bathrooms with plants, freestanding bathtubs, tropical interiors, interior gardens, houseplants, botanical decoration, interior design, Fauvist art, Henri Matisse, Pierre Bonnard, colorful painting, domestic architecture, and contemporary decorative art. Its vegetal exuberance, chromatic balance, and relaxing atmosphere make it a striking piece for private collections and interior design projects.
