Dutch East India Company (VOC) – Provincial Coinage – 18th Century – Lot of 7 Coins A varied group of seven VOC coins representing Holland, West Friesland, Utrecht, Gelderland and Zeeland. The lot includes Holland 1752, West Friesland 1749, Gelderland 1789, Zeeland 1734 and Zeeland 1744, together with two Utrecht examples whose dates are not fully legible. Each coin combines the interlaced VOC monogram with provincial heraldry. The designs include Zeeland’s lion rising above waves, the paired lions of West Friesland, Gelderland’s divided shield and Utrecht’s arms supported by two lions. VOC coinage connects the provincial minting traditions of the Dutch Republic with the company’s monetary activity in Asia. This group brings together several regional interpretations of the shared company design. Verified main-type references for the identified duits: West Friesland KM 131; Utrecht KM 111; Gelderland KM 50; Zeeland KM 152
