"An in-depth thematic exploration of the monumental oeuvre of the creator of Metal Hurlant and Lone Sloane. Structured around the six major themes (the ‘voyages’) of the official Angoulême exhibition, the book deciphers how Druillet disrupted the codes of science fiction and the 9th art." "• Voyage 1: Architecture: Analysis of his obsession with colossal structures, tortured futuristic cities, and monumental settings that overwhelm his characters. • Voyages 2 and 3: Influences and Mythology: A dive into his sources of inspiration (from Gustave Flaubert to H. P. Lovecraft) and the analysis of his baroque and mystical universes (Salammbô, Nosferatu). • Voyage 4: The 7th Art and Cinema: Focus on his incursions into cinema, notably his work as a graphic designer and his iconic posters (such as the poster for The Name of the Rose by Jean-Jacques Annaud). • Voyages 5 and 6: The Mystical and Digital Work: A look back at the sacred dimension of his art and the monumental animated projections of his plates that accompanied the end of his retrospective".
