Antique Paper Collage on Cardboard – Russian Typography, Religious Imagery and Latin Symbols An unusual and visually striking antique paper collage mounted on cardboard, composed of multiple printed images carefully pasted together to create a unified decorative composition. The piece features Russian typography bearing the name of A. Levenson in Moscow, religious imagery, Latin inscriptions and a variety of symbolic illustrations. The printed elements appear to have been assembled with remarkable craftsmanship. The edges have been carefully coloured and finished, making the joins between the individual images exceptionally difficult to distinguish. The combination of different printed styles, symbolic motifs and decorative colouring gives this object a distinctive historical and artistic character. The exact date of manufacture and assembly, the identity of the maker, the original purpose and the provenance are unknown. The reference to A. Levenson relates to printed material visible within the composition and does not establish that the entire piece was produced by that printing house. Condition: Aged condition, with visible wear, discolouration and signs of handling. Please examine all photographs carefully for details of the construction and condition. An intriguing collectible for enthusiasts of antique printed ephemera, historical paper objects and unusual handmade collages.
