Depero - Originale Maschere Meccaniche futurista cubista trittico - 1950s

An artwork from 1950. Lithography (NO copies, NO reproductions) by Fortunato Depero, one of the leading figures of Italian Futurism and of 20th‑century mechanical art. A visually striking composition, characterized by stylized figures, masks and disjointed geometric shapes, typical of the artist’s mature language. The structure is built through flat planes, vivid and contrasted colors (red, yellow, metallic gray and brown), with a volumetric rendering that recalls the plastic and theatrical dynamism distinctive of Depero. The work fully expresses the Futurist poetics of the mechanization of the human figure, with symbolic elements and masks that reference his scenographic and advertising imagery. Technique: lithography Year: 1950 Conditions: good overall condition with slight signs of time consistent with the era. A work of great decorative and collecting strength, ideal for collectors of Futurism, Italian art of the 20th century and historical works linked to the Italian avant-garde. From an art-historical point of view, the work ideally dialogues with the research of masters such as Umberto Boccioni, Giacomo Balla and Gino Severini, sharing an interest in dynamism, the decomposition of forms and the celebration of modernity, while maintaining Depero’s typical stylistic signature, more graphical and design-oriented. Printed on paper, the lithograph shows normal signs of time compatible with its age: light waviness and minimal marginal marks. Overall, the condition is good and the work is particularly decorative and representative of the artist’s mature production in the postwar period. An ideal work for collectors of Futurism, graphic art by the author and Italian art of the 20th century, as well as for those who appreciate the dialogue between art, design and industrial vision.
