DENMARK. 1/2 Rose Noble, 1611. Copenhagen Mint. Christian IV. NGC

Most Attractive and of the Utmost Rarity DENMARK. 1/2 Rose Noble, 1611. Copenhagen Mint. Christian IV. NGC AU Details--Edge Filing. Fr-49; KM-50.2; Hede-24B; Sieg-142.2; Harck-8.5.2; Schou-7; Bruun-4844. Weight: 4.43 gms. Mintmaster: Nicolaus Schwabe. Highly detailed, and despite file marks on the edge, a most attractive piece. This variety, where the king's crown breaks the obverse legend, is recorded in only two examples: this piece and the specimen in the National Museum of Denmark. The half Rosenoble was only minted in 1611 and, as a type, is considerably rarer than the full Rosenoble, which was struck in five different years. Estimate: €50,000 - €70,000. Provenance: From the L.E. Bruun Collection. Ex: Frederik Chr. Bech Collection (Copenhagen - 1906) Lot # 169. Ex: L. Christian Nielsen Collection (Copenhagen - 1878) Lot # 15.
