Monumental Bohemian or French Art Deco crystal decanter – ruby red / cut-to-clear 1930s (48 cm) in the style of Saint Louis or VSL Description: An impressive and exceptionally large antique showcase decanter in high-quality crystal, French or Bohemian, dating from the Art Deco period (the 1920s/30s). This monumental piece is manufactured using the traditional cut-to-clear technique: a deep ruby-red glass layer is hand-cut away to reveal clear crystal. The clean geometric faceting consists of a wide band with a refined diamond-cross pattern (diamant taillé), flanked by crisp vertical facet grooves and broad, polished oval windows at the base. • authentic hand craftsmanship. An absolute top piece for the serious collector of antique European crystal and Art Deco design. The decanter is in good used condition with some light soiling on the bottom, the stopper shows an imperfection at the lower neck which seems to have occurred during production.
