All auctions / Asian Art / De Porceleyne Fles, Delft - H. 31cm / "CK" 1966 - Vase - Earthenware
Impressive large lid vase by De Porceleyne Fles (Royal Delft) from 1966, fully hand-painted in the characteristic Delft blue tones. The stately, lightly ribbed baluster form is decorated with a lush composition of stylized flowers, leaves, and ornamental foliage. Different shades of cobalt blue and the hand-applied painting give the decor a lively depth. The curved, also richly painted lid with a three-dimensional knob completes the classic form. On the underside there is the traditional factory mark of De Porceleyne Fles with an apothecary bottle, the initials JT and Delft, complemented by painter initials and the year code. Royal Delft confirms this marking system for its hand-painted products. The year code CK clearly dates the manufacture to 1966. Manufacturer: De Porceleyne Fles / Royal Delft Origin: Delft, Netherlands Dating: 1966 Year code: CK Height: approx. 31 cm Material: Delftware / Faience Finish: hand-painted Decor: Delft Blue, floral cobalt decor The item is wrapped in padding foil and enclosed by bio-styrofoam in a double-walled carton and shipped by DHL.
