Davis Chronographe – Swiss Automatic Chronograph – Day-Date – Gold Plated – 1990–1999 An attractive vintage Davis automatic chronograph, featuring a classical cream dial, elegant blue Arabic numerals and hands, and a gold-plated case. Its traditional styling, combined with a mechanical automatic chronograph movement and day-date display, gives the watch a distinctive character inspired by classic Swiss chronographs. The dial is particularly appealing, with three chronograph registers, a tachymeter scale around the outer edge and a prominent day-date aperture at 3 o’clock. The combination of the warm gold-tone case, cream dial and blue details creates an elegant and highly recognizable appearance. The gold-plated case displays scratches, small marks and areas of wear to the plating. These signs are consistent with the vintage character of the watch. The cream dial is well preserved overall and retains its attractive contrast with the blue Arabic numerals and hands. Light signs of ageing may be visible under close inspection. The acrylic crystal shows normal signs of use. The watch has not been tested for water resistance; therefore, water resistance is not guaranteed. Please study all photos carefully, as they are part of the description and show the actual condition of the item. Story & Heritage This Davis chronograph represents a particularly attractive style of Swiss mechanical watchmaking from the late 20th century, when traditional chronograph aesthetics were combined with reliable automatic movements. Its dial draws strongly from classic mid-century chronograph design: elegant Arabic numerals, contrasting blued-style hands, three balanced registers and a peripheral tachymeter scale. The day-date display adds everyday practicality to an otherwise distinctly traditional composition. The visible automatic mechanical movement further reinforces the appeal of the piece. Unlike modern quartz chronographs, its functions are driven entirely mechanically, giving the watch the character and complexity sought after by enthusiasts of traditional watchmaking. With its warm gold-plated case, cream dial, blue details and mechanical chronograph complication, this Davis offers an appealing combination of vintage-inspired elegance and Swiss mechanical engineering. A distinctive piece for collectors looking for an automatic chronograph with classical proportions and strong visual character. Internal Reference Number - FLO-169
