David Law - Crypto Freddy Mercury VII

David Law - Crypto Freddy Mercury VII

Crypto Rock Special Series - Recreating a photograph using photos of the represented artist. Artist Photographer – Creator of contemporary images Multidisciplinary photographer artist, author and musician, David Law develops work focused on gaze, presence and the perception of the image in urban space. He first gained recognition with a series dedicated to window mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave rise to an art book published in 2021. Later drawn to the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he extends this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light, and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost living presence, questioning our relationship to illusion and projection. New Series – Echo Waves / Echo Visions - A new reading of cultural icons The Echo Waves / Echo Visions series offers a contemporary reinterpretation of cultural icons through an immersive and vibrant pop art aesthetic. Each work rests on a mosaic construction made up of thousands of micro-graphic compositions. From afar, the image reveals a recognizable figure, while up close it unveils a wealth of visual details. Each fragment acts as a “wave,” evoking the artistic universe of the subject depicted. The creation process is long and demanding, requiring precision and mastery of graphic tools. Extensive work is done on colors, light, and the overall harmony of the image. Everything is created in an original and independent manner. Edition & Manufacturing Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. Prints are produced on aluminum with an integrated rear mounting. Printing on luminous white vinyl, laminated between two aluminum plates, with UV and moisture-resistant flexible lamination, guaranteeing excellent durability, long-term stability of colors, and a modern, contemporary appearance. Background Since 2014, David Law participates in about twenty Contemporary Art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the official photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Parallel to his visual activity, he develops an authorial and musical practice including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a comic book, a photo book and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the band FRENZY.
