David Law Photographer-Artist – Creator of contemporary images Multidisciplinary photographer-artist, author and musician, David Law develops a body of work focused on gaze, presence and the perception of the image in urban space. He first gained recognition with a series devoted to shop-window mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superpositions. This research on gaze and presence gave rise to an art book published in 2021. Later intrigued by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he extends this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost living presence, questioning our relationship to illusion and projection. New Series – Walls of legends This series pays homage to iconic figures who have marked history, music, cinema and popular culture. Each portrait, pared down to essentials, captures in a few powerful contrasts an identity immediately recognizable. Realized with contemporary digital tools and then transposed into a stencil aesthetic, the works belong to the street art tradition, between spontaneity and mastery of gesture. Deep black and raw surfaces evoke direct intervention on the wall, while imperfections and textures reinforce their urban character. Between collective memory and visual expression, this series offers a timeless reading of icons who continue to inhabit our imagination. Edition & Fabrication Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist’s proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are made on aluminum with a built-in back mount. Printed on luminous white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum panels, with soft UV- and humidity-resistant laminate, ensuring excellent durability, long-term stability of colors, and a modern, contemporary look. Biography Since 2014, David Law has participated in around twenty Contemporary Art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the designated photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. In parallel with his visual work, he develops an authorial and musical career including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a graphic novel, a photo book and 5 self-produced CDs. Lead singer and guitarist, he currently performs with the group FRENZY.
