Splendid historical medallion in full bronze sand-cast, depicting the profile of Maximilien de Robespierre (1758–1794), a famous protagonist of the French Revolution. The work bears the famous official model conceived in 1835 by the renowned French sculptor and medalist Pierre-Jean David d'Angers (1788–1856) for his iconographic collection of great historical figures. The piece boasts structural characteristics and impeccable finishes that attest to its absolute nineteenth-century authenticity: • Conditions: Excellent condition, with a magnificent warm, natural, deep patina due to time, with no restorations or modern alterations. • Material: Sand-cast full bronze. • Weight: 454 grams. • Dimensions: Diameter 15 cm. • Color: Patinated bronze. • Front details: Name "Robespierre" inscribed vertically on the right side; cursive signature "David" and dating "1835" clearly legible at the bottom under the bust cut. It is equipped with its original upper suspension ring cast directly in the bronze. • Reverse: Typical hollow-back relief (negative profile of the face), an unmistakable feature of the era's artistic casting technique. • Shipping method: Tracked and insured shipment via express courier, with accurate professional packing.
