David Bowie - David Bowie (Europe) – 2010 DERAM 2LP –...

A particularly attractive Bowie archive edition: the 2010 Deram double-vinyl reissue of David Bowie's 1967 debut album (catalogue 532 760-1), presenting the complete album in both its original mono and original stereo mixes. Rather than employing a modern remix, this edition grants the listener both authentic versions of the album as they originally appeared in 1967. Record One contains the original mono album, first issued as Deram DML 1007, while Record Two contains the original stereo album, originally released as SML 1007. This approach makes the edition especially interesting for Bowie collectors, as the mono and stereo versions are not simply interchangeable copies of the same master; the debut was originally prepared in both formats, and hearing them side by side offers a fascinating window into how Bowie's earliest full-length studio work was conceived across different mixes. Issued as a 2LP gatefold set on 180-gram heavyweight vinyl, this pressing captures Bowie several years before Space Oddity, The Man Who Sold The World and Hunky Dory—at a point when his music still drew heavily from British music hall, theatrical pop, orchestral arrangements and whimsical character songwriting. The album includes early Bowie material such as "Uncle Arthur," "Sell Me A Coat," "Rubber Band," "Love You Till Tuesday," "There Is A Happy Land," "When I Live My Dream," "Little Bombardier," "Silly Boy Blue," "Join The Gang," "She's Got Medals" and the wonderfully strange "Please Mr. Gravedigger." ⸻ Sleeve (M): Factory sealed and unopened. The gatefold sleeve remains in pristine mint condition with no handling, wear or marking of any kind → M Vinyl (M): Factory sealed and unopened. Both records remain unplayed and untouched inside their original factory packaging, grading M overall → M ⸻ Details * France 2010 pressing * Deram / Decca 532 760-1 * 2LP gatefold set * 180g heavyweight vinyl * LP 1: Original 1967 mono album (DML 1007) * LP 2: Original 1967 stereo album (SML 1007) * Factory sealed, unopened
