daveY - KAWS LEGO – "Lepidoptera Metamorphosis"

Information about the Artwork: In an auction, an artwork of incredible elegance and symbolic power, part of the prestigious collection "Elemental Odyssey", a series dedicated to pure materials, elements, and transformations of matter. The piece, titled "Carbon to Diamond", captures the famous figure of KAWS in the midst of a spectacular material metamorphosis. The lower half of the body is solid, dense, and impenetrable, composed of opaque black bricks reminiscent of crude carbon or onyx. Rising toward the bust and head, the material undergoes a radical transformation, dissolving into a crystalline and transparent structure that reflects and refracts light exactly like a pure diamond. The setting, curated in meticulous detail, recalls the workbench of a master jeweler: resting on a deep black velvet drape, the figure is surrounded by sparkling gems, with high-precision tools blurred in the background. A masterful contrast between absolute darkness and the brilliance of light.
