Splendid and delicate maternity in bronze signed V. Cinque, the work of the Neapolitan sculptor Vincenzo Cinque (1852–1929). The sculpture strikes especially for the sweetness of the relationship between mother and child: the face of the young woman, inclined toward the little one, is illuminated by a splendid smile, rendered with great expressive sensibility. Particularly refined are the details of the veil that wraps the head, decorated with finely incised floral motifs, as well as the face, the child's hands and the different surface treatments. The beautiful dark patina preserves warmer reflections on the points most in relief. The sculpture rests on an important double-step marble base. Work signed “V. Cinque”, the signature clearly visible and documented in the photographs.
