lot of two owl or owl Brutalist art by Curtis JERE United States Sculpture, owl, brutalist, sheet metal Curtis JERE 1970s vintage zoomorphic sculpture of an owl (or owl) in brutalist style, characteristic of the 1960s and 1970s. Object features • Material and construction: Made in folk art or art-craft from cut, repoussé, assembled and welded metal sheets. The metal features a dark brushed or flame patina. • Design: The distinctive eyes of the statue are made from large resin (or lucite) spheres in an amber/honey color, framed by frilled metal evoking bottle caps or gears. • Artistic style: This type of raw metal creation is heavily inspired by the work of the famous American design house Artisan House, founded by artists Curtis Jere (Curtis Freiler and Jerry Fels) dimensions : height = 20 cm on 12 cm x 9 cm ; weight = 200 g height = 20 cm on 11 cm x 9 cm ; weight = 200 g condition see photos
