Crucifix - Gilt brass - 1800-1850

Charming altar crucifix of Empire style and period in brass from the early 19th century. Remarkable witness of sacred art and private devotion, this crucifix dates from the 1800s. This piece stands out for its fine filigree and the presence of a strong symbolic engraving at the base of the shaft. A skull. In Christian iconography, this motif represents the remains of Adam at the foot of Golgotha, illustrating Christ's triumph over death and the redemption of original sin. The cross rises on a tripod pyramid base, characteristic of the neoclassical taste of the first third of the 19th century. It is entirely removable. In good condition.
