Cosmin Marian Guta (1994) - “Icarus XI” - XXXL- No Reserve

•Title: “Icarus XI” - XXXL •Artist: Cosmin Marian Guta •Year: 2026 •Technique: Mixed media on canvas, pastels, ink oil and acrylic on canvas * Painting dimensions: 176x140 cm painting * Total canvas dimensions: 185x150 cm (with about 3-4 cm free space on each side to be framed) * SHIPMENT WITHOUT FRAME • Style: Contemporary, in which I use mixed media and organic matter that, when manipulated, gains a tactile quality reminiscent of the human epidermis. The surfaces of my works become skins that breathe, scar, erode, and transform. They are sensitive maps where memories, marks, and silences are inscribed. I am interested in that crossing point between the physical and the symbolic, where matter seems to have a life of its own. • Shipping: Packed and boxed in a cardboard tube • Signed on the front of the canvas • Note: Colors may vary slightly compared to the photographs • The work is unique. ***The artwork will be shipped in a cardboard tube, with a tracking number, via an internationally known shipping company, for example (FEDEX, UPS, TNT)*** Description Icarus XI presents a winged male figure, inspired by the Greek myth of Icarus. The character appears seated, with wings extended and surrounded by a turbulent sky of intense blues, pinks, golds, and ochres that reinforce the sense of movement and drama. The work can be interpreted as a reflection on ambition, the desire to rise, and human limits. Unlike a purely narrative depiction of Icarus’s fall, here the figure conveys a mix of strength, vulnerability, and contemplation. The contrast between the naked body, the large wings, and the celestial landscape emphasizes the tension between the human and the divine, the urge to fly, and the risk of exceeding our limits.
