Corneille (1922–2010) – “Omaggio a Fellini” – 1977 / 1985 – twice hand-signed in pen For sale is an original exhibition poster by the eminent Dutch artist Corneille (Guillaume Cornelis van Beverloo, 1922–2010), co-founder of the legendary avant-garde artist group CoBrA. The poster was created for Corneille’s solo exhibition at Gallerihuset, Studiestræde 19, Copenhagen, in September and October 1985. The motif used is “Omaggio a Fellini,” based on a composition by Corneille dating from 1977. Particularly noteworthy: twice handwritten signatures by Corneille The present copy bears two handwritten signatures/artist inscriptions by Corneille: - In the motif there is the handwritten artist inscription “Corneille 77,” with “77” referring to the year 1977 and the origin of the original motif. - Additionally, at the bottom white margin there is another autograph “Corneille,” placed outside the printed motif. This combination makes the presented exhibition poster a particularly interesting collector’s item.
