Gallery P. Forza-n. 385, featuring a female figure (Roman muse), a copy of a wall painting from Pompeii. The anonymous copyist created it circa the first half of the 19th century on-site in Pompeii, for nobles who came to Pompeii to visit the ruins, who bought copies of the frescoes just uncovered. The painting is part of the so-called Grand Tour, taken from Pompeii to Brazil with its buyer, and later sold at a private auction in Rio de Janeiro. An interesting story. Dimensions without frame: height 35 cm, width 25 cm. The frame is Baroque-style, decorated with gold leaf, to be reviewed. Dimensions with frame: height 50 cm, width 40 cm.
