Concord, New Hampshire. Union Bank. 18xx $3. PMG Choice Uncirculated 64. Remainder. No. None. Plate A. Chartered in 1856, the Union Bank of Concord did not opt to become a National Bank like many of its peers throughout New Hampshire and much of New England and instead went into liquidation come 1867. Most outstanding notes were destroyed and less than $2,500 was left unredeemed, but surprisingly a number of high-denomination Remainders survived making this lot an excellent counterpoint to those survivors.
