TURING, Alan Mathison (1912-1954). "Computing machinery and intelligence." In: Mind . Vol. 59, no. 236, October 1950, pp. 433-60. Edinburgh: Thomas Nelson & Sons, 1950. First edition of Turing's landmark paper on artificial intelligence. A foundational text of artificial intelligence, Turing introduced the idea of the now-famous "Turing Test" as a practical framework for evaluating whether a machine can exhibit behavior indistinguishable from human thought. It challenged prevailing assumptions about the limits of computation and machine intelligence and established many of the central questions that continue to shape computer science, cognitive science, and AI research, more than seven decades later. Origins of Cyberspace 936. Octavo (240 x 140mm).
