Compagnie de Navigation Sud-Atlantique. Collection of seven pieces of maritime ephemera relating to the French ocean liners L'Atlantique and Pasteur. The grouping consists of one light blue commercial airmail cover sent from Buenos Aires to Chemnitz, Germany, with a typed return address reading PABLO BECHTEL / CALLE GUATEMALA 4845 / BUENOS AIRES and a directive for transit Por vapor: L'ATLANTIQUE. It is franked with a red 25-centavo stamp depicting a ship and a green 10-centavo stamp with a portrait. Postcards for the L'Atlantique include black and white interior views of the Salon ovale and the tennis court, a sepia profile view, and a small photographic print on cardstock with a pencil caption reading L'ATLANTIQUE 1930. The Pasteur is shown in a view of the second-class bar and a 1989 commemorative card for an exposition in Le Havre. Most cards feature the printed heading CIE DE NAVIGATION SUD-ATLANTIQUE and CARTE POSTALE on the reverse. Several items have dealer pencil notations on the back including 35.- and 12.-.
