These are vintage taxidermy coat hooks made from mounted deer legs, mounted on wooden wall plaques. This sort of decorative hook is commonly found in rustic country-style or hunting interiors, and they usually date from the 1950s to the 1980s. Originally they were often used in pairs in France and other European countries as gun racks to lay a hunting rifle horizontally. This particular pair, however, is equipped with an extra copper or brass hook on the bottom, making them ideal for use as a coat or hat rack.
