Old imperial Russian silver cigarette holder, 84 zolotniki (875/1000) – Master M. M. Karpinsky – Russia, 1899–1907 Exceptional imperial Russian cigarette holder made in solid silver 84 zolotniki (875/1000), from the late period of the Russian Empire, featuring an elegant vertical fluted decoration with refined visual appeal. The piece shows Russian assay contrast with a female head wearing a kokoshnik, corresponding to the official Russian hallmarks used between 1899 and 1907, as well as the master mark «MK», identified as Mikhail Mikhailovich Karpinsky, silversmith and owner of an artisanal workshop specializing in silverwork. The surface is decorated with an elegant monogram applied in gold, an aristocratic element that adds distinction and exclusivity to the piece. This type of personalization was common on private-use objects belonging to high-status owners within the Imperial Russian milieu. Dimensions: Length: 10 cm Width: 7 cm Thickness: 1.5 cm Weight: 133 g A piece of great presence due to its weight and craftsmanship, representative of late 19th to early 20th-century Russian silverware. Imperial Russian cigarette holders with maker’s identification, customized decoration, and a high silver content are items especially sought after by collectors. Good overall condition in keeping with its age, with light signs of use and the passage of time. The photo is part of the description.
