This 12-inch vinyl LP record features the studio cast recording of the stage production Chu Chin Chow: A Musical Tale of the East. The work is told by Oscar Asche with music composed by Frederic Norton. The performance is by the Sinfonia of London, conducted by John Hollingsworth. This release is part of the World Records and EMI Retrospect Series, bearing the catalog number WRS 1007 (SW 7168). The record was manufactured in Great Britain and includes a 1961 phonographic copyright, while the liner notes are dated 1980. The sleeve displays a stylized design in gold and green with blue lettering. The reverse side includes historical liner notes by Peter Gammond and a full cast list.
