CHINA--EMPIRE. Lot of (3). 1909 4 1/2% Imperial Chinese Government Anglo-French (Peking-Hankow Railway) Loan of 1908. Bonds for 20 and 100 Pounds. K-180 to K182. Very Good to Very Fine. Issued by HSBC (20 and 100 Pounds) and Banque de l'Indo-Chine (20 Pounds). A complete set of this series. According to Kuhlmann, only 250, 1200 and 6250 bonds remain outstanding for each, respectively. The HSBC 20 Pounds is therefore extremely rare. The Qing government issued this loan through Anglo-French banks to buy back the Beijing Hankou Railway from its Belgian owners, who had built and managed the line since the late 1890s. Estimate: $360 - $500. Provenance: From the Yang Ai Hao Collection. 1908年京漢鐵路英法借款債券20鎊及100鎊（1909年印製發行）。三張。 滙豐銀行（20及100英鎊）與東方匯理銀行（20英鎊）發行。本系列全套。據庫爾曼記載，各券存世量分別僅餘250張、1,200張及6,250張。因此滙豐20英鎊券極為罕見。清政府透過英法銀行發行此筆借款，以自1890年代末起建造並營運該線之比利時公司手中贖回京漢鐵路。
