CHINA--EMPIRE. Lot of (3). 1899 5% Chinese Imperial Railways of North China Gold Loan. Bond for 100 Pounds. K-90. Fine to Very Fine. Issued by the British and Chinese Corporation for HSBC and Jardine, Matheson and Company. According to Kuhlmann, only 1725 bonds remain outstanding. These three bonds are in above average condition for type. The purpose of this loan was to extend railway lines in northern China, one that extends towards Xining and a branch line from Goubangzi to Yingkou. Estimate: $120 - $180.
