Child Jesus of Olot - Antique - Wood, Plaster - 1930-1940 - The Holy Christ

An antique religious figure of the Child Jesus, made in Olot (Girona, Spain) and marked on the back with the workshop seal “El Santo Cristo – Olot Gerona”. Traditional figure made of polychromed wood paste, hollow-bodied, with eyes apparently made of glass. It preserves its large original halo or metallic radiance and the decorated base. It features a rich polychrome decoration in greens and golds, with ornamental relief motifs. Estimated period: 1930–1940. Height: 33 cm. Weight: 729 g. Condition in keeping with its age, preserving its original polychromy with wear, scuffs and small losses visible, especially on the face, hands and golden areas.
