Chest - Oak, Wrought iron

17th-century German chest, entirely crafted in solid oak, characterized by a sturdy rectangular structure with a domed lid. The surface is embellished with elaborate wrought-iron appliqués, fixed with original nails, which follow and enhance the chest's shapes. Particularly striking are the large hinges and the original lock, perfectly functional, equipped with a mechanism that allows the key to be inserted. The front plaques bearing initials and the date 1826 were added later. The chest rests on sturdy, shaped feet and is complete with the splendid original iron side handles. Inside, a small door also serves as support for the lid and conceals three small oak drawers intended for the tiniest items. Tracked and insured shipping, professional custom packaging.
