Chess set - Marble , Onyx .

Vintage chessboard in onyx, marble and alabaster – 1970s/1980s – Complete with turned wooden pieces Splendid vintage chessboard dating from the 1970s/1980s of the 20th century, made of natural stones with a refined combination of onyx, marble and alabaster, characterized by magnificent veining and evocative color shades. The playing surface presents an elegant alternation of ivory translucent squares and brown-amber tones, embellished by the extraordinary natural veining of the stone. The generous perimeter frame, with deep Bordeaux, ochre and green hues, gives the whole a remarkable visual impact, making every detail unique and unrepeatable. A thin dark border delineates the playing field, enhancing its geometry and the harmony of proportions. The chessboard is complete with its 32 wooden turned pieces, divided in the classic ivory and dark brown tones, with elegant traditional workmanship. Dimensions of the chessboard: 39.5 × 39.5 cm. Dimensions of the individual squares: 4 × 4 cm. Excellent overall condition, with slight signs of aging compatible with its age and use. Note only a slight mimetic touch-up in correspondence with one corner, photographed, practically imperceptible in the overall view and absolutely irrelevant to aesthetics and functionality of the object. A fascinating example of decorative craftsmanship from the second half of the 20th century, where the beauty of natural stones meets the tradition of the game of chess. An object of great elegance, ideal both for chess enthusiasts and as a refined decorative accessory for study rooms, libraries, living rooms and refined environments. The photographs are an integral part of the description.
