Che Guevara Signed 1959 Document - PSA/DNA

Important Cuban Revolutionary document dated January 30, 1959, issued on "La Comandancia de La Cabana" letterhead and signed by Ernesto "Che" Guevara as commander of La Cabana. Authenticated by PSA/DNA (AJ06612). Issued only weeks after the triumph of the Cuban Revolution, the document addresses the authority and discipline of the newly established revolutionary government. Guevara invokes Cuba's earlier struggle for independence and condemns the Platt Amendment and the influence of foreign, particularly North American, economic interests. He then establishes rules governing conduct within his territory, warning that those who interfere with revolutionary authority will be subject to the Council of War or returned to their respective revolutionary commands. The document concludes with instructions that officials cooperate with revolutionary authorities requesting materials and transportation.
