Impressive Tripod Bronze Incense Burner (Censer) – China, Late 19th Century / Qing Dynasty Period (Apocryphal Qianlong Mark) Dettagli dell'Oggetto * Type: Incense burner / censER (Ding) * Origin: China * Era: Late 19th Century (Late Qing Dynasty period, c. 1880–1900) * Material: Bronze with a dark and warm patina * Base mark: Four-character raised seal inscription "乾隆年製" (Qianlong Nian Zhi – Made during the Qianlong reign, apocryphal/homage period mark) * Conditions: Excellent conservation with normal wear and patina consistent with age. No visible restoration. Description Extraordinary and imposing tripodal incense burner (Ding) cast in bronze and finely chased in high relief, made in China toward the end of the 19th century (Late Qing Dynasty period). The object stands out for its exceptional and exuberant sculptural workmanship: * Central body: Highly raised relief decorated with majestic five-claw imperial dragons chasing the flaming pearl of wisdom among stylized clouds (Xiangyun). * Handles: Two imposing dragon-shaped handles climbing the body of the vase. * Perforated lid: The lid, cleverly perforated to permit the smoke from the incense to escape, is topped by a finely carved full-round dragon. * Support: The piece rests on three solid stylized feet in the shape of the paws/heads of a mythical creature (Taotie / Shishi). Under the base is present the four-character seal mark incised in relief 乾隆年製 (Qianlong Nian Zhi), a typical mark of honor and respect toward the golden age of Qing craftsmanship, characteristic of high-quality late 19th-century production. A collectible piece with great visual impact, perfect for enriching collections of Oriental art or refined antique interiors. Accurate and tracked shipping
