Iconic Cassina 288 Sled sofa, designed by the Italian architect and designer Rodolfo Dordoni for Cassina in 2011. An impressive three-seat sofa with a width of no less than 260 cm. The sofa is entirely upholstered in leather and has a low, sleek silhouette. The adjustable headrests can be raised individually, allowing the appearance and seating comfort to be adjusted to preference. This piece is without armrests. This keeps the design open and minimalist, and the generous shape of the sofa is showcased. The Sled is designed to stand freely in the room. A lot of attention has also been paid to the finishing on the back. The leather is in good used condition and shows normal signs of use appropriate to its age. Overall, the sofa still presents as very well cared for. Rodolfo Dordoni, 1954 to 2023, belonged to the well-known generation of Milanese designers and architects. He worked for leading brands such as Cassina, Minotti, Flos, Molteni, Kettal, and Artemide. His work is known for calm lines, good proportions, and a combination of comfort and refined detailing. The 288 Sled was included in Cassina's I Contemporanei collection in 2011. The original design was available in two- and three-seat configurations. Distinctive are the low horizontal form, the adjustable headrests, and the careful shaping of both the front and back. A pronounced Italian design sofa that sits beautifully in a spacious interior and pairs well with design from, among others, B&B Italia, Fritz Hansen, Eames, and Poul Kjærholm. Brand. Cassina.
