An Edwardian sterling silver mounted claret jug, the bulbous lead glass body decorated with an intricate strawberry diamond and star cut pattern. The glass features a slender, vertically fluted neck leading to a hallmarked sterling silver mount. The mount includes a hinged lid with a flame-style finial, a decorative spout engraved with foliate and scroll motifs, and a cast S-scroll handle embellished with acanthus leaves. The base of the glass is finished with a large cut starburst design. The silver mount bears the Cartwright & Woodward hallmark. Thermo Scientific Niton XL2 XRF Precious Metal Analyzer Tested.
